Surrey Artists’ Open Studios

This summer I decided to take part in Surrey Artist Open Studio’s to show people what I’ve been up to and I’ll be opening my doors from 6th -21st June at the Farnham Maltings, East Wing Studio 7, Farnham, Surrey. It will provide an opportunity to demonstrate the process of Intaglio Printmaking and there will be work for sale from £5.00-£450.00

For directions and opening times to my studio please visit the SAOS link.

For sixteen days in June, Surrey artists open their doors to welcome the public. This unique event offers an exciting opportunity to meet artists and makers in Surrey, to hear about and see first hand their practice and to admire their work. The artists taking part also offer ample opportunity to take part in workshops, and to meet fellow enthusiasts en route. Some artists offer trails that help you to plan a full day out, just ask for details when you visit a studio, or create a trail for yourself using the maps and information provided on the Surrey Artists’ Open Studios website.

With over 240 artists taking part, there is a wide variety of work including print-making, jewellery, ceramics, textiles, painting, wood, sculpture, illustration, glass work and much more. Many artists will be at work when you visit so you can observe artworks being made, understand the processes involved and take a peak behind the scenes to see a huge range of artists working with different tools and media.

Studio locations are all over Surrey, from vibrant commercial town centres to our beautiful Surrey rural villages in the heart of Surrey Hills Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. From the humble garden shed to the purpose built studio, artists have utilised every available space to make exciting new work.

There is also an opportunity to vote for your favourite artist, in the Patricia Baines Trust Surrey Artist of the Year competition. You will be entitled to vote if you visit four or more studios and then you can enter a prize draw to win £150 voucher to buy a work of art or craft from a participating studio.

The website offers a fantastic resource: an online interactive map where you will be able to find studios taking part and to easily plan your visit with the touch of a button.  Pick up a brochure at one of the Surrey libraries or arts venues or call 01483 519287
